Bank Holiday News Roundup

A few snippets of news on a typically wet and windy Bank Holiday Monday in Britain:

  • Love the way the word “official” is being bandied-about regarding new iPhone and iPad events in September and October.  I think I’ll wait to hear it from the Big Cheese himself, rather than some veteran columnist with a stupid beard;
  • Apple stock opened at a new high of $680 today.  An ‘iPad Mini’ could spell the end of Android, I read with interest today;
  • Apple looks like it’s going to open its first Retail Store in Sweden (in Stockholm);
  • A new iPod Nano may incorporate Wi-fi.  This is in order to make the most of the iTunes Match service hardly anyone uses;
  • MacGasm are reporting that a 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display may already be in production.  The 13.3″ display is capable of displaying 2560 x 1600 pixel density;
  • Samsung have sent a memo to employees saying they’re gonna continue fighting;
